Robin
Anderson, Associate Pastor, Education & Outreach
- Robin has been on staff at UBC since 2004. She currently
serves as the Associate Pastor for Education and Outreach, which
means that she gets to guide people in deepening their
connection with Christ, with each other, and with the community
around UBC. She loves this challenging, yet utterly fulfilling,
job.
Before moving to Baltimore, Robin served as
the Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care and Senior Adults at
First Baptist Church of Decatur, Georgia. While in Georgia, she
earned her MDiv at McAfee School of Theology. Robin also
obtained a BFA in Theater Performance from Webster University in
St. Louis and lived briefly as a “starving artist” in Chicago.
Robin is married to Marty Anderson, who is
also a minister at UBC. They have a young daughter named Sophia
and dachshund named Milo. Robin loves Shakespeare, jazz, the
Indigo Girls, and rhythm tap. In her spare time, she enjoys
movies and live theater, hiking, and watching her little girl
explore the world.
Marty
Anderson, Associate Pastor, College Ministries
- Marty joins the UBC ministry staff as the Associate
Pastor for College Ministry. He has a heart for college
students. He loves watching students discover who they are and
who they can become in Christ during the college years. He most
recently lived in Atlanta, Georgia where he served in campus
ministry at Georgia State University and where he earned his
Master of Divinity from Mercer University’s McAfee School of
Theology. One of Marty’s favorite moments in ministry thus far
was when he and his wife Robin were ordained to the ministry
together at First Baptist Church of Decatur in Atlanta. Marty
earned his BS in Educational Psychology and Counseling from
Mississippi State University.
Gail
Stephens, Church/Office Coordinator - Gail was born in Tennessee and reared in the South. When she was six years old, she accepted Christ as Savior; and at age 15, accepted God’s call to work in the music ministry. She has been a church pianist/music associate ever since. One of her greatest joys has been working with all age group choirs and helping others to worship God through music.
Her earliest memories of church are of singing in the Cherub Choir and getting to play with flannel board Bible story figures. Since she has always been actively involved in church ministry, it was a natural progression for her to begin working and ministering in a church office setting.
She has a degree in Music Education, and has taught private piano and voice lessons. Her favorite things to do are: singing, gardening, reading mysteries, scrap booking, traveling to the mountains and the beach, vegan cooking, and yoga. She is a life-long learner, currently studying Spanish, Nonprofit Management, and learning to knit with Flissy.
She has two children, Andrew and Rachel. Andrew and his wife, Heather, live in Ohio. Rachel is a Communications major at the University of Tennessee. She plans to go into radio broadcasting and producing. Gail lives with her husband, two cats, and one dog in Baltimore.
A favorite Scripture is Zephaniah 3:17: “The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” A favorite quote: “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
Felicia Saucier, Communications Coordinator -
Felicia Saucier (Flissy) comes to UBC from suburban Howard
County, where she lives with her husband and cats. Her unusual
nickname comes from her great-grandmother. Flissy grew up as a
member of First Baptist Church in Frederick, where as an adult
she volunteered with the Youth Ministry. She graduated from
UMBC with a degree in Ancient Studies and Art History and
Theory. Before working at UBC, she shared her skills with the
Howard County Arts Council, Center Stage, and most recently
through OfficeTeam, where she was blessed with the opportunity
to work with UBC permanently. She works with Gail to create a
friendly and efficient office at UBC. She also brings to UBC
her talents in art and graphic design.
Flissy’s original art and jewelry can be
found at www.the-kitschen.com. Flissy loves to keep busy by
dancing, practicing yoga, knitting, and baking vegan cupcakes
and other delicious treats. She likes to drink tea and do
crossword puzzles. Flissy is looking forward to getting to know
the congregation and the fantastic people in Charles Village. |
