Sunday Bible Study
Take advantage of what UBC has to offer you! We have a
wonderful lineup of Bible Study groups that meet at 9:45on
Sunday mornings and are followed by fellowship and refreshments
in Heaver Hall. Our Bible study program offers in-depth and
extended study of scriptural and topical issues in a small group
setting. Nursery care is offered
during this time, as well as classes for grade school children,
youth, and college students. Following is a description of
classes offered for you to peruse and choose one to attend next
week!

Bible (Teacher:
Bryan Beverly, Meets in the Parlor)
This class is an in-depth study of
individual books of the Bible. Enrich your personal Bible study
with knowledge acquired in this class! Explore important issues
about each book, such as, authorship, background, purpose, and
historical context and then delve into the structure and meaning
of each book. This class is in a lecture format, with plenty of
time for questions and discussion. They are currently studying
the book of Colossians.

This lively women’s study through the
devotional publication, Smyth and Helwys Formation Literature,

several faith and denominational perspectives to this fun study
of important scriptural studies. This is primarily a discussion
format lead by Rose, complete with an official segment of jokes
and poetry reading!
Books of the
Bible Study (Facilitator: Susanne Emory, Meets in the classroom next to
Heaver Hall)
Would you like to “walk through the Bible”
with other journeymen at your side? Then this is the class for
you. This group reads through the scriptures, verse by verse,
and shares with each other their insights. Guided by an initial
study of the structure and background of the book, including the
geography that the book moves through, this gentle format will
enrich your understanding of scripture, and augment your
abilities to study the Bible on your own.
Contemporary
Christian Issues (Teachers: Robin Anderson and Mary Anne
Smith, Meets in a McCormick Center classroom)
Are you interested in discussing important
issues facing Christians today with other believers? This class
will give you a chance to hear many perspectives from a diverse
set of backgrounds, and let your voice be heard. Robin leads
the group through a series of topical discussions, complimented
by scriptural references and her research into how other
insightful Christians have dealt with the issues. You won’t
leave without something to think about until the next class!
